KEY IDEAS:
- The Albuquerque Police Department’s Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) relied on siloed systems, requiring personnel to spend nearly four minutes gathering fragmented information during active incidents.
- Disconnected data made it difficult for analysts to quickly locate and share critical intelligence with officers in the field.
- By unifying historical police data with real-time inputs in a single platform, Albuquerque PD created a complete, live view of developing situations.
- With unified data, RTIC response times dropped from minutes to seconds, improving decision making, officer awareness, and operational efficiency.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Police Department’s real-time information center (RTIC) once operated on siloed data systems that didn’t talk to each other. Those silos made gathering information from the RTIC's systems and reporting it to field officers a tedious, manual process.
Deputy Chief J.J. Griego told Police1 that it would take three minutes and 40 seconds to get information from the department's data systems to responding officers in the field — an inefficient workflow that could prove dangerous in critical situations.

“We really needed to find a solution that would give the bridge operator, investigators, and even officers in the field that ‘single pane of glass’ where we could incorporate all those disparate systems,” Griego said. “And that’s when we discovered Peregrine.”
Since implementing Peregrine, the Albuquerque Police Department’s (APD’s) RTIC has grown to integrate thousands of data sources to streamline operations and buy back those three minutes and 40 seconds for preparation, decision making, and other high-value tasks. In a recent article, Police1 explored how APD leveraged Peregrine to evolve a state-of-the-art RTIC. Read the full Police1 article to learn more.
🔑 KEY TAKEAWAY: By unifying disconnected data, the Albuquerque PD reduced real-time information center response times from nearly four minutes to mere seconds, delivering critical intelligence to officers faster.
