APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (October 29, 2026) — MS NOW reporters Marc Santia and Jillian Frankel report on how Arizona law enforcement officials are implementing technology that uses existing infrastructure to keep voters safe on Election Day and beyond. The battleground state has long been the site of protests and false claims of stolen elections, and this year, the police officers in Apache Junction, near Phoenix, are leaving nothing to chance. MS NOW got a look at how officers are using Peregrine Technologies to connect siloed streams of information, like 911 calls, body camera footage, and crime reports into a real-time dashboard. If there is an emergency or a disruption at a polling place, Peregrine says this dashboard will help police find the closest officer to the location and give supervisors faster information on how to address the situation. It also helps police avoid sending uniformed officers to stand guard at the polls, which could make voters uncomfortable.
