HOBBS, N.M. — When Sgt. Jennifer Maxwell of the Hobbs Police Department needed to track down a six-month-old 911 call with limited information on the incident, searches in the traditional data systems came up empty. Peregrine, however, surfaced the call record in seconds.

Maxwell received a call from a citizen claiming that she had reported a larceny six months prior. The citizen could provide only an approximate date and address for the incident.

If Maxwell hadn’t found the original call, she wouldn’t have known the incident was a civil matter, and she may have inaccurately reported it as a larceny.
“If we just went off the information the caller gave us six months later, the incident did look like a larceny, and it did look like we should be filing charges,” Maxwell said. “But because we were able to find the original call and watch the body-cam footage from it, we could determine that it was a civil matter, and no legal action needed to be taken.”
Without Peregrine, Maxwell said, it would have been tedious — if not impossible — to find the original call data in Hobbs PD’s source systems.
“It’s possible we could have found it, but we were going to have to dig and dig and dig into the system,” she said. ”It would have potentially taken a day or two. But with Peregrine, it was almost instant.”
