MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (May 28, 2025) — Manatee County has adopted a new approach to hurricane response by implementing a technology system that integrates all storm-related data into one place. Previously reliant on “siloed systems,” officials had to toggle between separate programs to access critical information such as wind speeds, lift station metrics, shelter occupancy, and road closures.

Now, with a centralized platform from Peregrine, emergency management leaders can make faster, more informed decisions using real-time data. Manatee County Public Safety Director Jodie Fiske says the system helps ensure evacuation and shelter decisions are based on the most current information. The county has also established a dedicated “GIS Room” with six monitors to display this data live during storms.

"Manatee County’s deployment of Peregrine last year demonstrated the power of real-time data integration and historical analysis in managing complex storm response operations," said Peregrine CEO Nick Noone. "Together, we’re ensuring Manatee County has the tools and capabilities to protect lives and safeguard critical infrastructure when it matters most."
